Chef Carmelo Inducted Into the Wine & Food Week Chef of Chefs Hall of Fame
Chef Carmelo Mauro will be honored as the second inductee into the Wine & Food Week Chef of Chefs Hall of Fame for his contribution to culinary excellence and education.
Houston 's iconic Wine & Food Week celebrates 10 magical years in 2014, drawing culinary masters and wine experts from around the world. Held June 2-8, Wine & Food Week's gastronomic grandeur features scores of events with more than 500 wines, 50 restaurants, legendary wine producers and culinary personalities, and a vast collection of craft beers and gourmet food purveyors. Wine education classes, chef demonstrations, cookbook author events, silent auctions, and casual to fine wine-and-dine experiences round out the week’s festivities. The region's largest, most comprehensive epicurean extravaganza with more than 10,000 participants each year, Wine & Food Week features exceptional wine experiences for the novice to the enthusiast paired with delicacies created by some of America’s top chefs.
Wizard Gourmet 2014 is Chef John Moeller, a member of an elite corps of chefs, those who have served in the White House preparing tres soigne cuisine for Presidents, First Families, and their guests, including visiting Heads of State. Moeller will be Special Guest at Carmelo's Ristorante Italiano's June 4th Wine dinner featuring Castello Banfi Winery.
