Our News & Thoughts about Food, Wine and all things Yum.

Come enjoy November's featured Winery, Beni di Batasiolo!

At Carmelo’s, your enjoyment is our mission. And we feel that’s most true when we handpick the best ingredients for you, when we craft our menus, when we come up with new pairings, and when we travel to visit our local and overseas suppliers to see how they work and whether they meet our high standards.

Once a year we travel to Italy to stay up-to-date with the trends and get to know new suppliers, or visit longtime partners. One of this year’s trip’s highlights was Beni di Batasiolo Winery, located in Serralunga, Piedmont, land of graceful, aromatic and fruity wines.

Owned by the Dogliani Family, Beni Di Batasiolo is one of the major wineries in the region of Langhe. We were warmly welcomed by Fiorenzo Dogliani, who took care of us all in the most gracious way. They are not only great vintners, they are great people, indeed. We could savor their amazing wines paired with incredible culinary specialties crafted in Michelin-starred restaurants, while enjoying a stay in their fantastic Boscareto Resort & Spa.

Beni di Batasiolo produces all the most celebrated red wines of the Region, like Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera D’Alba Sovrana, Dolcetto d’Alba and also great white wines as Moscato D’Asti Bosc D’la Rei and Gavi del Comune di Gavi.

Barolo is the top end of their production and we’re very proud of being able to bring to you four of their Barolo Crus straight from Monforte, La Morra and Serralunga: Barolo Bofani, Barolo Boscareto, Barolo Cerequio and the award-winning Barolo Briccolina.

Join us for lunch or dinner to celebrate with us Batasiolo’s excellence. For the whole month of November, Batasiolo wines are available by the glass. And you can enjoy 20% OFF on their graceful Barolo Crus. See featured wines here.
