Conveniently located between Eldridge and Dairy Ashford, Carmelo's Houston is Carmelo's first location, opened in 1981. Since that time, Carmelo’s has consistently been recognized as one of the best restaurants in Houston for Italian fine dining.
The space offers five private wine and banquet rooms with original artwork from Houston artists David Adickes and Herb Mears, and artifacts from Carmelo’s hometown of Taormina, Sicily.

More about our Houston restaurant event space.
Whether it’s an event at our Houston location or a dinner at your home, office or another off-premise venue, our culinary team will create a memorable, unique experience featuring the best Italian food and wine in Houston for you and your guests.
The restaurant is laid out like an Italian village with terraced slopes, a simulation of Italian homes on wall cutouts with windows that light up at night, some turned off to suggest that people have gone to bed, Italian paintings and artwork that represent other nations. There is the piazza – the town square reminiscent of where people often gather to converse, party, laugh and get together to celebrate family events. The leaning clock tower chimes softly every half hour and is flanked by street lamps with an antique metal brushed finish. On one wall are overarching lamps that remind you of an intimate town square setting. Inside, there is the Hall of Fame where photos of famous celebrities adorn several walls, showing the history of the restaurant.
